اسلام آباد: ایم 4 موٹروے پر بہاولپور سے اسلام آباد سفر کرنے والے سینئر صحافی زیاد علی شاہ اور ان کی اہلیہ معروف صحافی رشنا ضمیر کے ساتھ سیکیورٹی کا انتہائی سنجیدہ اور خوفناک واقعہ پیش آیا ہے، جس نے قومی شاہراؤ ں اور موٹرویز پر شہریوں کی حفاظت کے دعوؤں کا پول کھول دیا ہے۔
موصولہ تفصیلات کے مطابق واقعہ رات تقریباً 10:00 بجے فیصل آباد کے قریب ایم 4 موٹروے کے سنگل لین حصے پر پیش آیا۔
کوہستان وحید ٹریولز کی/بس (نمبر TAU-010) کا ڈرائیور مسلسل ہیڈ لائٹس جلا کر گاڑی کو دباؤ میں لاتا رہا۔ موقع ملتے ہی بس ڈرائیور نے صحافی زیاد علی شاہ کی گاڑی کو سائڈ سےٹکر ماری، آگے جا کر بس روک دی اور گاڑی کا راستہ بلاک کر دیا۔
Terrifying incident on M-4.
Today, while travelling with my family from Bahawalpur to Isbd, we experienced a horrifying incident that exposed the alarming lack of timely response from the authorities responsible for our safety.
A sky-blue bus (TAU-010) belonging to Kohistan Waheed Travels was following our car on the M-4 Motorway near Faisalabad, where the road was single-lane. Despite the lack of space to overtake, the bus driver repeatedly flashed his headlights, pressuring us to give way. The moment he spotted even a small gap, he struck the side of our car, overtook us, and stopped directly in front of our vehicle.
Initially, we assumed the bus driver had in an accident with the vehicle ahead. However, the driver,along with 15–20 men, approached our car and began physically assaulting us. We were threatened by the mob and feared for our safety. There were only 3 of us (2 men and 1 woman) and we somehow managed to de-escalate the situation and escape.
It did not end there, the same bus followed us all the way to the Sial Rest Area, where we stopped out of fear.
Throughout this situation, we contacted the Motorway Police thrice. Yet, each time, we were told that “the case has not been registered.” The incident occurred at approximately 10:00 PM, and even after 2 hours, we had received no assistance.We are constantly assured that women and families can travel safely on our motorways. But after experiencing something this terrifying, I cannot help but question what these assurances actually mean. What is the point of having a motorway police force if citizens cannot receive timely assistance at the time of safety risk.

بس سے ڈرائیور سمیت 15 سے 20 مسلح و غنڈہ عناصر نیچے اترے اور کار میں سوار 3 افراد (زیاد علی شاہ، ان کی زوجہ صحافی رشنا ضمیر اور ایک اور مرد) کو گھیر کر تشدد اور سنگین نتائج کی دھمکیاں دیں۔
صحافی خاندان نے کسی طرح حکمتِ عملی سے جان بچائی، لیکن یہ سنسنی خیز ڈرامہ یہی ختم نہ ہوا، بلکہ بس ڈرائیور نے تعاقب جاری رکھا اور سیال ریسٹ ایریا تک گاڑی کا پیچھا کرتا رہا۔

واقعے کے سب سے تشویشناک پہلو کے مطابق متاثرہ خاندان نے رات 10 بجے سے لے کر اگلے دو گھنٹے کے دوران موٹروے پولیس سے 3 مرتبہ رابطہ کیا، مگر ہر بار کیس رجسٹر نہ ہونے کا روایتی اور سرد مہری پر مبنی جواب دے کر شہریوں کو بے یارو مددگار چھوڑ دیا گیا۔
موٹروے پولیس کی عدم توجہی کا عالم یہ ہے کہ رات 10:00 بجے پیش آنے والے اس خوفناک حادثے اور غنڈہ گردی کے پورے 15 گھنٹے بعد (اگلے دن دوپہر 1:00 بجے کے بعد) آفیسرعاصمہ نقوی نے متاثرہ صحافی سے رابطہ کیا۔
اس واقعے نے موٹروے پولیس کے 1300 ہیلپ لائن اور شہریوں کی حفاظت کے بلند و بانگ دعوؤں پر سنگین سوالات اٹھا دیے ہیں۔
اگر رات کی تاریکی میں مسلح ہجوم کسی بڑے سانحے یا جانی نقصان کا سبب بن جاتا تو اس کا ذمہ دار کون ہوتا؟ کیا شاہراؤ ں پر خواتین اور خاندانوں کا سفر اب صرف نام کا محفوظ رہ گیا ہے؟
